Visit Southampton
DestinationCore Pro

Visit Southampton is the only consumer facing destination website for the area

DC Pro and The List Events Feed module made for the perfect combination

The Problem

They required their DestinationCore site to help them:

  1. Become the recognised resource for consumers to find out about what’s on in the area. Events listings are an essential ingredient for any successful destination website.
  2. Be a useful and recognised authority for things to do in Southampton. As the only resource for things to do for consumers, visitors and tourists in the area, it is essential that the site provides curated content and recommendations on how consumers can get the most from their visit to Southampton.

The Solution

Go! Southampton BID had just gone through a brand refresh and were looking to help bring that brand to life with a powerful online experience. With the lack of a dedicated destination website for the area, the BID
stepped up to create one. They wanted visitsouthampton.co.uk to become the go-to website for users to find what to do and what's on in Southampton. They chose the Advanced package and The List Events Feed module to power their website.

Events and curated content is given significant prominence on the site, allowing users to drill down to
directory listings once they have been inspired. This is now establishing Go! Southampton as the primary resource for the area.

By utilising 'The List", Southampton now can compile a single source of events data for the area. We integrate directly with The List’s data feed meaning the client never has to manually upload an event to the CMS. With over 1,000 events listed on the site, this is valuable user resource and a huge time saving for the client.
