The Ilford BID came to us looking for a way to showcase the unique personality of their destination as well as highlight to potential visitors everything that Ilford has to offer. In Ilford was the consumer facing brand, but it had no online presence.
- Working with the client we created a cohesive set of business objectives:
- Accurately reflect the personality of Ilford and showcase the locations retail and cultural offering
- Increase awareness of what’s on in and around Ilford town centre
- Encourage visitors to spend more money in the town centre via increased footfall and more frequent repeat visits
- Celebrate and support the town’s independent businesses
- Provide a demonstrable ROI for levy payers and investors/stakeholders
And then set about achieving them by bringing their In Ilford consumer brand to life through a place marketing website on our DC Pro platform combined with the built in automation offered through an automated events feed provided by Data Thistle.
The Ilford Food & Drink offering is vast and diverse. We used the DC Food & Drink Finder functionality to help users find the perfect restaurant or bar for their needs.
We also introduced the DC Automated Email Subscriber module - which integrates with the client Mailchimp account to send an automated digest of the latest news, events and offers from the website directly to the inbox of In Ilford email subscribers from content which is added to the site.

We helped the client grow their online audience from 0 to an average of over 5,000 unique visitors a month in just 18 months, providing them with a platform to grow the In Ilford brand and attract new audiences to the destination.
We've helped them gradually increase on-site engagement, as more content has been added the bounce rate has decreased and dwell time and pages per session have increased.
